Dont Forget to Pay Your Mortuary Funds!! Thank You....

 

I would like to welcome all the snowbirds back, I hope you are all in good health.  I'm sorry to say that we did not get the funding for the Healthlink this year; we are going to try again for the funding for next year.  What we all have to do is call or write our Representatives, Neal or Jim McGovern and tell them it is very important that we get the funding for Healthlink. 

This year we will be holding elections for all the officers.  If you would like to run for one of the positions, I would ask you to call or tell Janet in the Business Office what office you would like to run for, so we can print up a ballot for the June 12th meeting.  This is when we will hold the election.

Unfortunately, we had to drop the Spring 2006 breakfast and the Summer 2006 Barbeque for a lack of turnout.  We are not going to get baseball tickets this year because of the small turnout; we had to eat most of the tickets last year and the cost of the bus.

We need to build our membership and we need the help of the members.  If you know anyone who just retired, try and bring him or her to the next meeting to see if they would like to sign up as a new member.

I would ask you not to forget the Food Bank; also I will be working with the coalition in looking at the Pop-Up and cost of living.

ELECTION OF OFFICERS MEETING

A meeting to elect officers will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at 10:00 AM at the Union Hall.

Also, a Healthlink meeting will be held at the Union Hall on Thursday, June 14, 2007 beginning at 8:00 AM.

The Annual Retiree's B'BQ will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2007.  Doors open at 11:00 AM, serving at 12:00 PM  at the Elk's Lodge, Southbridge Street, Auburn, MA.  The menu will be barbeque chicken, pulled pork, rigatoni and sauce, garden salad, oven roasted potatoes, rolls, coffee and dessert.  Tickets are $8.00 for members and $8.00 for one guest.

The Retiree's Office will be open the first and third Wednesday of each month beginning May 2, 2007.
